Privacy Policy

Memorie Labs, LLC ("Memorie," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website mymemorie.ai and the Memorie SMS-based memory assistant (the "Service"). Memorie is offered only to adults in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By signing up for or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the Service and communicate with you:

  • Account details. When you sign up, we collect your mobile phone number and your email address.
  • Consent record. When you sign up, we record which version of the text-message consent you agreed to, when you agreed, and the IP address and browser you used, as evidence of your opt-in.
  • Plan and billing status. Payments are handled by Keryx and its payment processor. We receive your plan and subscription status (for example, trial, Core, or Plus, and renewal dates). We don't receive your full card number.
  • How you found us. When you first visit, our site stores on your device, for up to 30 days, the site that referred you, the page you landed on, any friend's referral code in the link, and any campaign tags in the link (for example, utm_source). If you sign up, this is saved with your account so we can tell which channels bring people to Memorie.
  • Referral links and rewards. Our site gives each browser a random device ID (kept for up to a year) so we can tell repeat visits apart and stop people from rewarding themselves. When someone opens a member's referral link, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of their IP address and network, their approximate city and country, and the site that sent them, to count unique visitors and prevent abuse; we don't keep the IP address itself, and we delete these records about 3½ months after the visit. We use Vercel's bot detection on our homepage to filter out automated traffic. Members sign in to their rewards page with their phone number and a code we text them; we keep a record of each sign-in attempt (the number, IP address and device ID) for 90 days to limit repeated attempts.
  • Waitlist details. If you joined our waitlist before launch, we keep the email address and phone number you gave us to tell you when Memorie opened.
  • Messages you send. If you use the Service, we process the text messages, notes, reminders, and details you send so we can organize them, answer your questions, and remind you. What you send is up to you, and it may include information about other people, such as family members. Please don't use Memorie as your only record of anything critical (see our Terms).
  • Usage and device data. Like most websites, we collect basic analytics such as pages visited, referring site, approximate location, browser, and device type.
  • Advertising measurement. Our website uses the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies so Meta can tell when someone who saw or clicked one of our ads visits our site. See "Advertising" below.

How we use your information

  • To create your account, verify your phone number, and send you emails about your trial and account (for example, a welcome, a reminder before your trial ends, or a note when our text messages aren't getting through).
  • To provide the core Service: capturing, organizing, retrieving, and reminding you of the information you text us.
  • To send you tips on using Memorie and news about it, if you gave us your email. You can unsubscribe from these at any time.
  • To understand which websites, links, and campaigns bring people to Memorie, and to measure and improve our ads.
  • To improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
  • To respond to your questions and support requests.

AI and your messages

Memorie uses artificial intelligence, provided by AI service providers, to organize your messages, find information in them, answer your questions, and help create reminders. We don't use your messages, in a form that identifies you, to train AI models.

We may create de-identified information from how the Service is used, meaning information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you or your account, and use it to improve Memorie, including its AI features. We won't try to re-identify it. If we ever want to use identifiable messages in a new way, such as training AI models, we'll ask for your permission first; we won't do it just by updating this policy.

Who can see your messages

Your messages are stored by Keryx, which runs Memorie's messaging and account platform, and processed by our AI providers so Memorie can answer you. A small number of people at Memorie and Keryx can access your messages, and only when needed to:

  • help you when you contact support,
  • find and fix problems with the Service,
  • keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, or
  • meet a legal obligation.

We don't read your messages for any other reason, we don't use them to train AI models, and we never sell them.

Family sharing

On the Plus plan, you can add up to three people to a group chat with Memorie. Anything sent to the group is shared: everyone in the group can see it and ask Memorie about it. Messages you send to Memorie outside the group aren't shared with the group.

SMS and messaging

Memorie is an SMS-based Service. If you opt in to receive text messages, message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and you can request help by replying HELP. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.

How we share information

We don't sell your personal information for money. Apart from advertising measurement (below), we share it only with the service providers that help us operate the Service, and only so they can provide those services to us. These include Keryx, which provides Memorie's messaging and account platform (including your trial, plan, and billing); our email provider; and our hosting, database, and AI providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Memorie and our users.

Advertising

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we use Meta's tools to learn whether those ads work. When you visit our website, the Meta Pixel tells Meta which pages you viewed. When you start a free trial, and later when you save your first memory, we tell Meta that it happened, along with your phone number and email in scrambled (hashed) form, the ad cookies on your browser, and, for the trial, your IP address and browser. Meta uses this to match these events to its users, to measure our ads, and to help show them to people likely to find Memorie useful; Meta's use is covered by Meta's Privacy Policy. We never send Meta your messages or anything you save with Memorie.

Under some U.S. state privacy laws, this may count as "sharing" or "selling" personal information, or as "targeted advertising." You can opt out: turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser (we then don't load the Meta Pixel or send Meta anything about your signup), or email us and we'll stop sending Meta information about you. You can also manage ads in your Meta account settings.

If Memorie is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal, and this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and saved content while your account is open, including while it's read-only, so you can keep asking Memorie about what you saved.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see below). When your account is deleted, we delete your saved content and account details and remove you from our email lists. Copies in backups are removed on their normal schedule.

We keep a minimal record after deletion: your phone number, which version of the text-message consent you agreed to, when you agreed, and the IP address and browser you used. We keep it only to show that you opted in and to honor opt-out requests. We may also keep records we're required to keep by law, for example for billing, tax, or legal claims.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify you and regulators when the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

  • You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, or by contacting us.
  • You can stop SMS messages by replying STOP.
  • You can opt out of advertising measurement with Global Privacy Control, or by emailing us (see "Advertising" above).
  • You can ask for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. We may ask you to confirm the request comes from you before we act on it.

Adults only

Memorie is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where they live. We don't allow minors to create accounts or join a family group. Adults may choose to save information about their family, including children, as part of their own content.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. For material changes, we'll give you notice in advance, for example by email or text, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
